A modern day Cowboy and the Zen of the motorcycle ride

Now at 57, I'm enjoying my bizarre life and my motorcycle passion more than ever. Currently living in an amazing location in South Western France with my partner, we simply enjoy riding through some of the most spectacular scenery and roads I've been lucky enough to ride anywhere in the world.

After 38 years of riding and owning more motorcycles than I care to admit, I feel qualified to share some of my experiences. I've owned bikes which I've saved from breakers' yards in times of need, to some beautifully customised Harleys which I've customised myself. For the last twenty years my passion and bikes of choice are Harley Davidsons. There hasn't been a time where I haven't owned a motorcycle.

Some people have their lives mapped out on a straight road knowing where they are heading and what they hope to achieve. Others are on a meandering road taking many surprising twists and turns. I'm on the latter and having survived death three times during 2014, and once in 2017, I have gained a different attitude to life's varied challenges. Through my inner core strength, passions for art, music and motorcycling I'm healing.

I've decided to write this blog almost as a diary to share the positive energy I have for my motorcycle journey: the experiences of rides, the people I meet and scenery I'm privileged and able enjoy.

What better way to review the fun I have on my bike and the bike gear I use than by real world riding. I'll try to explain and explore the connection between bikers and their motorcycles, the co-existence between man and machine and the zen of being at one with the road.

So enjoy my blog and feel free to join the ride. Positive energy is always welcome.

Note: At the time I originally started writing my Blog in 2016 I owned the above beautiful Dyna Switchback FLD. I loved this bike but sadly due to a serious health problem I sold it!!! I am now excited to be getting a Harley Freewheeler Trike in September 2017 and possibly a Sportster 883.
